General
IMPACT is a platform for creative expression: it is not a competition. There are no monetary or materialistic prizes. All eligible students will have a fair chance at being selected for publication in our annual editions.
  • Eligibility: Must be a student attending at least one class at Pioneer (dual-enrolled students may submit as well).
  • Each person may submit up to 5 works in total.
    • Please submit one form per work.
  • All literary works will be edited as deemed fit by the editors. All edits will be suggestions that the authors can choose to accept or decline.
  • All visual arts works will have the option of being considered as the cover of the magazine which will be the "feature" artwork on the online editions.
  • All submissions will be required to provide an artist statement on the form that asks to describe the content/medium/inspiration of the work.

How to Submit
Submissions for the 2022-23 school year are open!
The deadline is 2/17/23.

The magazine will be printed in spring 2023. All selected works will also be published on our website. You can see previous years' editions here under "Issues"!

This year's edition name is "Iridescence." If you are looking for inspiration, you may use this "theme" as a starting point.

All submissions will be reviewed anonymously through a blind review process unless files are inaccessible (in which we will contact you directly).

Each individual may submit up to 5 separate works.

Note: There will be an "other" option for categorizing your work.
No pre-recorded school performances for performing art submissions. Covers are allowed!
Journalism stories are not accepted. Please send them to the school's newspaper at phsoptimist@aaps.k12.mi.us instead.
IMPACT does not accept analytical writings such as rhetorical analysis and synthesis essays.

Judging
All submissions will be reviewed and selected through a blind review process by the editors of IMPACT. ​​
The editors will not know the names of the authors and artists during the selection process. The only possible exception to anonymity is if a submission is inaccessible in which we will directly contact the writer/artist.
