Behind the Name: The Revival
November 2019: a literary arts magazine was established by a Constitution containing its foundations and rules in a Google drive. No public announcement, no grand reveal. Just a draft proposed at Westgate library written by eight high school students. No fancy signatures, either.

That marked the start of IMPACT, on paper at least, and through months of searching, discussing, preparing, promoting, adjusting, and editing, all embodied with a strong wish that everything would pay off, IMPACT released its first ever student publication of student works from over 110 submissions.

Yet, this milestone didn't represent an entirely new story, but rather a new chapter, or a sequel. Pioneer's previous literary arts magazine, The Overtones, was discontinued ten years prior to IMPACT, and so was a distinct platform to exhibit student expression beyond the class curriculum.

Hence, IMPACT, can be interpreted as a reintroduction: a renewed opportunity for students to share their creativity and thoughts once again.

And
The Revival is just that. The first page in a hopefully long documentation that goes beyond a Google doc.
