Concerto for Harp, Vibraphone, and Band by Tate Zeleznik
Artist Statement
I've been studying vibraphone technique a lot and have come to really love the sound of the instrument, and I think that combined with the harp it creates the perfect blend of soft, yet metallic tones that, when combined with the right harmonies, really make a great sound together. This piece is only the second composition I've made for band, and I think it really helped me grow as a composer.

Efflorescence by Tate Zeleznik
Artist Statement
I've mostly only really ever worked with more common time signatures, and I've never really worked with mixed meters before, so I wanted to try my hand at some more complex and varied time signatures. The piece uses a total of 10 time signatures, most of which aren't ones I regularly compose with. I also don't really have experience writing for orchestra, so it was fun to explore the different textures that could be created with strings, wind, and percussion together.

Alene by Elliot Besirli
Artist Statement
Alene here is a pseudonym for a person I know. The name popped into my head while writing the song, and when I researched the meaning, it just fit.

Disappear by Elliot Besirli
I wrote this song to help me process the realization that I was dealing with emotional distress, and as expressed in the end of the chorus, one of the few things keeping me tethered to reality were the people I loved.
Cello Concerto in B-Flat Minor, Movement I by Elliot Besirli
The culmination of several months of on-and-off work, this is one of my first compositions featuring a full symphony orchestra. The many different parts provided a unique challenge, experimenting with different sounds and instruments. The main theme I came up with while bored during an orchestra rehearsal.
Masquerade Waltz by Elliot Besirli
After listening to the waltz from Khachaturian's Masquerade Suite, I was inspired to try my hand at writing my own. This short piece is my attempt, featuring one of my first compositional forays into writing for full symphony orchestra.
Outward by Elijah Hatcher-Kay
"Outward" emerged from two distinct inspirations: sitting at long red lights, and wrestling with queer identity and how to share it with loved ones. Using metaphor and symbolism, I attempted to fuse these two ideas into one story exploring questions of expression, honesty, and family.
