mission statement

lMPACT is a student-run literary arts magazine with the goal to create a community supporting the prosperity of the literary, visual, and performance arts at Pioneer High School. As such, we hope to provide a single gateway to bridge together various arts and to offer students a creative outlet to highlight their works as writers and artists of Pioneer.

WHY WE ACCEPT ANONYMOUS SUBMISSIONS

The IMPACT Literary Arts Magazine accepts submissions both anonymously and with names attached. Showing one’s work to others can be extremely intimidating, especially if it’s the first time. Those who may not want to sign their name still have valuable work to display and should not be deterred from accessing the avenues through which to do so. Above all, we aim to encourage the students at Pioneer High School to share their work and let their creative voices be heard, whatever their comfort level. We believe that this is an important feature, and one that allows us to achieve our goals as a magazine.

Special thanks to:

Ms. Hieber began teaching in the English Department at Pioneer High School in fall of 2017 after her career as a Pioneer student in 2006.
"This year, I am so pleased to work with the students behind the inaugural IMPACT Literary Magazine. This collection of student work reflects the hard work, creativity, and critical thinking of the exceptional students in our school community and on the magazine staff. Thank you for taking the time to read our published works and appreciate the literary and visual arts at Pioneer High School!"

Thank you to the Pioneer High School faculty and student body for continuing to support IMPACT's platform and established goals. We thank everyone who has contributed to our fundraisers, promotions, and submissions to help IMPACT strive as a school literary arts magazine.
